Heading south

We arrived in Maine on July 21st, nearly 7 weeks ago. Today we are in Kittery on the Piscataqua River. On the south side of the river is Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Tomorrow we leave Maine - in search of sunny days down south.
We've spent the last few weeks in Casco Bay around the Portland area. We dropped our sails off at the sail loft in Freeport to have them gone through and have a few repairs made. We know some of the sails were new in 2021, but don't know much about the others - they could be original from 2012. With the sails in the shop for a week or so, we had time for errands, chores, and hanging out at some beautiful island anchorages.
Some days we spend doing the typical chores and errands - but living on a boat means these can sometimes take all day. We got some new folding e-bikes that have made a huge difference in how we can get around town and where we can get to. In many areas getting an uber or taxi just isn't an option. We have spent more time waiting for busses than we ever thought we would. The bikes are a game changer! We needed bikes that were lightweight and could fold down small so we could get them in and out of the dingy and store them onboard. So far they have been awesome!
Unboxing the new bikes Folded down - now where do they go? Getting the bikes ready for the day Portland farmers market Grocery trip #1 - still trying to figure out how to carry everything Grocery #2 - with the new paniers Fitting it all in the dingy Break time at the park
We revisited some of our favorite anchorages to just hang out a few days and get some hiking in when we could.
Views from the top of Vinalhaven Island Fun to watch the seals around the boat, but tough to get a photo of them. Foggy morning in the bay Rocky shore at Cliff Island Quartz squeezed through the layers of shale Quartz and shale rocks Shore access on Cliff Island Early morning sunrise Cliff Island ferry dock / ice cream store

And of course, it wouldn't be complete without a sunrise/sunset photo.
